As per Lal Kitab, Rahu is an elephant and when Mercury joins Rahu, it acts like elephant's trunk. When Mercury is placed in 3-9-12-8 houses and Rahu is placed in 5-1-7-8-11 houses, it indicates prison, mental hospital, hospital in general, deserted place or cremation ground. As a remedy, donate articles related to Moon at cremation ground or bring underground water from cremation ground and keep it at home excepting Mercury in 4th house.
Mercury + Rahu together in 7-10-11 houses will give good results to native but for others it will be like a stupid friend. In 1-4-8-9 houses, it gives bad results to the native but no adverse results for others. In 12th house, highly inauspicious for self and others; if native involves himself in any sort of work related to Rahu, native will be completely destroyed. He may go to prison or mental hospital. The situation will be so critical that an elephant (Rahu) will cry and run around to protect its life from a small goat (Mercury). It means that native will have to face situation in life where he is crying and shouting for help in a mental hospital or jail. All bad words uttered (casually) for self will become true in life and native's children may die.
Whenever they form relation with Jupiter, all three planets will give adverse results.
Rahu and Mercury in first house: Problems in progeny.
Rahu and Mercury in third / eleventh house: Native gets bad results of Ketu and Mercury till 34 years when Rahu-Mercury are in 3rd house. Native's sister may be rich but her husband may have short life. As a remedy, if there is any fire place like kitchen in western side of ancestral property, change its place or close it permanently before marriage.
