Navamsa Chart is one of the most important divisional chart in Vedic Astrology. A planet well placed in Navamsa is considered to give good results despite its ordinary placement in lagna chart. In a sign, there are 30 degrees and in zodiac of 12 signs, there are 12 x 30 = 360 degrees. Each Navamsa consist of 3 degrees 20 minutes. There are 9 Navamsa in one rasi of 30 degrees and hence 9 x 12 = 108 Navamsa. Out of these 108 Navamsa, there are special 24 Navamsa which are called as Pushkar Navamsa. Each rashi has 2 Pushkar Navamsa. Any planet placed in Pushkar Navamsa is said to give good results especially for its significations. The lords of these Pushkar Navamsa are natural benefic planets like Jupiter, Venus, Mercury and Moon. Jupiter and Venus has the maximum viz 9 each so total 18 and Moon & Mercury have three each so total 6 and all total 24 Pushkar Navamsa. There is no Pushkar Navamsa allotted to natural malefic like Saturn, Mars and Sun
How to find out if any planet of your horoscope is placed in Pushkar Navamsa ?
It's easy. Just mark the rasi and degrees of the planet placed in lagna chart. Now see
If a planet is placed in MESHA, SIMHA OR DHANU RASI, it will be in Pushkar Navamsa if it is placed in between 20 degrees to 23 deg 20 minutes OR 26 deg 40 minutes to 30 degrees. Here planet will be placed in either Tula or Dhanu Navamsa. A planet placed in Dhanu rasi and Dhanu Navamsa will be Vargottama also hence more benefic results.
If a planet is placed in VRISHABHA, KANYA OR MAKARA RASI, it will be in Pushkar Navamsa if it is placed in between 6 deg 40 minutes to 10 deg OR 13 deg 20 min to 16 deg 40 min. Here planet will be placed in Meena or Vrishabha Navamsha. A planet placed in Vrishabha rasi and Vrishabha Navamsa will not only be Pushkar Navamsa but also Vargottama Navamsa hence more auspicious.
If a planet is placed in MITHUNA, TULA OR KUMBHA RASI, it will be placed in Pushkar Navamsa if it is placed in between 16 deg 40 min to 20 degrees or 23 deg 20 min to 26 deg 40 min. Here planet will be placed in either Meena or Vrishabha Navamsa.
If a planet is placed in KARKA, VRISCHIKA OR MEENA RASI, it will be placed in Pushkar Navamsa if it is placed in between 0 deg to 3 deg 20 min or 6 deg 40 min to 10 deg. Here planet will be placed in either Karka or Kanya Navamsha. A planet placed in Karka rasi and Karka Navamsa will be Vargottama also hence will be more auspicious. Jupiter here is best as exalted also.
Any planet placed in Pushkar Navamsa tends to give good results for its significations. And if along with Pushkar Navamsa, it is Vargottama also than good results are further enhanced. The only exception to this rule is that planet should not be placed in Navamsa in rasi of 8th house of lagna chart as it neutralizes good effects. If this planet is auspicious planet of your horoscope and also placed in Kendra / Trikona / Upchaya in Rasi and Navamsa chart, you can expect at par excellent results. It will give wealth and happiness. If 6/8/12 houses get involved in this placement, one should expect negative results along with wealth.
Example: Look at Amitabh Bachan Horoscope (11 Oct 1942, 16:02 hours, Allahabad) and you will find the reasons why he recovered from such disastrous situation of debts and failure to successful person again. Just look at his Jupiter. Jupiter is exalted, Vargottama and Pushkar Navamsa planet. What more you want !! Jupiter is significator of wealth and happiness. Jupiter is lord of 11th house of gains and 2nd house of wealth. Jupiter gave him recovery from such tragic situation in life.
Apart from Pushkar Navamsa, there are more special Pushkar Bhaga which is specific degree of the rasi falling within the range of Pushkar Navamsa. A planet placed here gives excellent results.
In 1/5/9 rasi, a planet placed at 21 degrees is considered to be in Pushkar Bhaga also
In 2/6/10 rasi, a planet placed at 14 degrees is considered to be in Pushkar Bhaga also
In 3/7/11 rasi, a planet placed at 24 degrees is considered to be in Pushkar Bhaga also
In 4/8/12 rasi, a planet placed at 7 degrees is considered to be placed in Pushkar Bhaga also.
Classical text JP also mentions Pushakar Bhaga for each rasi separately but it may or may not fall under Pushkar Navamsa

Pushkar Navamsa and Pushkar Bhaga are considered auspicious even in horary astrology, Muhurata and transit of planets. We should give importance to planet in Pushkar Navamsa and Pushkar Bhaga as a weak planet (like debilitated) may also give auspicious results.
