Ordinary Yogas

Shloka 1

Learned Astrologers state that native will get auspicious results of the house for, house lord conjuncts house karka.

Shloka 2

3rd/8th/11th lords are evil. 5th/9th lords are auspicious.

Shloka 3

Despiter Jupiter may own 3/6/8 houses or posited in 8th house, he gives auspicious results.

Shloka 4

Venus gives auspicious results in both 6th & 12th houses.

Shloka 5

Rahu confers yoga while placed in 10th/11th/4th/5th houses.

Shloka 6

Natural benefic confers no yoga if own kendra. Malefics confers yoga if lords of kendra or posited in kendra.

Shloka 7

The auspicious results of the house will reduce if occupied or aspected by Saturn.

Shloka 8

Learned state that if Saturn aspects 3rd / 9th house, the house give good results..

Shloka 9

Weak Moon (paksha-bala) in lagna makes the native dull. He is fed by others and remain dependent. Full Moon makes one possess good qualities and wealthy.

Shloka 10  

Native is fortunate if Moon & Mars join in lagna or 8th house. He will possess properties if Mars joins 4th lord.

Shloka 11

Native acquires four leg animals if Jupiter is posited in 4th with 4th lord.

Shloka 12

A house, its lord or its karka if hemmed in between malefic, it gives sorrow and evil to the native.

11th lord & 12th lord if related confers yoga. 11th lord produces good results if occupy 3rd / 12th house.

Grahamalika Yoga


~Pancha-graha-malika yoga: All planets in 5 houses starting from lagna.
~Shashta-graha-malika yoga: All planets in 6 houses starting from lagna.
~Sapta-graha-malika yoga: All planets in 7 houses starting from lagna.

~Ashta-graha-malika yoga: All planets in 8 houses starting from lagna.
~Nava-graha-malika yoga: All planets in 9 houses starting from lagna.

~Some Astrologers state that Graha-malika-yoga starts from Sunwheras some state that it starts from lagna.
~ Native with Graha-malika yoga and all planets in 6,7,8,9 houses or in first five houses from lagna is fortunate.
~Planets located in even signs give results of mool trikona rashi first followed by other sign lordship. And reverse for the odd sign.
~Planets in 2nd from Sun move fast. Normal in 3rd house; slow in 4th; somewhat retrograde in 5th and 6th; fully retrograde in 7th & 8th; transverse in 9th & 10th; very swift in 11th & 12th. Fast moving benefic losses beneficence.
~Malefics become good when retro.

Chapter XIV

Planetary rulership etc.

~For Sun, Leo is mooltrikona & own sign, Aries is exaltation, Libra is debilitation, Gemini-Virgo are neutral, Cancer-Scorpio-Sagittarius-Pisces are friendly, Taurus-Capricorn-Aquarius are inimical.

~For Moon, Taurus is mootrikona and exaltation, Scorpio is debilitation as well neutral, Cancer is own sign, Aries-Gemini-Libra-Sagittarius-Capricorn-Aquarius-Pisces are neutral, Leo-Virgo are friendly.   

~For Mars, Aries is mootrikona and own sign, Scorpio is own sign, Taurus-Gemini-Virgo-Libra-Aquarius are inimical, Capricorn is exaltation, Cancer is debilitation and friendly, Leo-Sagittarius-Pisces are friendly.

~For Mercury, Virgo is exaltation, mooltrikona and own sign, Gemini is own sign, Taurus-Leo-Libra are friendly, Cancer is inimical, Aries-Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius are neutral, Pisces is debilitation and neutral.

~For Jupiter, Cancer is exaltation & friendly, Capricorn is debilitation and neutral, Aries-Leo are friendly, Taurus-Gemini-Virgo-Libra are inimical, Sagittarius is mooltrikona and own sign, Aquarius is neutral, Pisces is own sign.

~For Venus, Pisces is the sign of exaltation but inimical, Virgo is debilitation but friendly, Taurus is own sign, Libra is mootrikona and own sign, Aries-Gemini-Scorpio are neutral, Cancer-Leo-Sagittarius are inimical, Capricorn and Aquarius are friendly.

~ For Saturn, Libra is exaltation, Aries is debilitation and inimical, Taurua-Gemini-Virgo-Libra are friendly, Cancer-Leo-Scorpio are inimical, Sagittarius - Pisces are neutral, Aquarius is mooltrikona and own sign.

~For Rahu, Taurus is exaltation, Gemini & Cancer are Mooltrikona, Aries is friendly and Virgo is own house. Rahu when exalted gives Raj Yoga.

~For Ketu, Scorpio is exaltation, Sagittarius & Capricorn are Mooltrikona, Libra is friendly, Pisces is own house.

Results of Dasha

Shloka 1

In Sat-Ven or Ven-Sat dashas, native does not get good results (yogheena).

Shloka 2

Sat-Ven or Ven-Sat dasha confers yoga for Pisces & Sagittarius native.

Shloka 3

Lords of 6/8/12 are killers in their bhukti in dasha of eighth lord posited in 8th.

Shloka 4

If 10th and 3rd lords are related, dasha of 3rd lord causes yoga.

Shloka 5

5th, 7th and 9th lords posited in respective houses, native gets holy dips in Ganga in their dasha-bhukti.

Shloka 6

Native earns wealth through his own efforts in dasha of planet posited in lagna or 7th house. Also, he earns wealth by his own efforts in dasha of 9th lord posited in 7th house.

Shloka 7

Native's father will die in Rahu/Ketu/Saturn/Sun bhukti in Rahu mahadasha.

Shloka 8,9,10 & 11

Father may die in following periods:

~MD of Ketu and AD of Mars/Saturn/Sun/Rahu.
~MD of Mars and AD of Rahu/Ketu/Sat/Sun
~MD of Saturn and AD of Rahu/Mars/Sun/Ketu
~Father's death will certainly happen in the beginning of Rahu MD and near end of Mars MD

Shloka 12

Learned predict that Father dies in Rahu bhukti - Malefic dasha.

Shloka 13

Venus confers Raj Yoga in its dasha if in Scorpio conjunct with Jupiter.

Shloka 14

Mercury gives highly auspicious results if related to Sun in its dasha. Sun dasha gives ordinary results.

Shloka 15

Moon gives auspicious results in its dasha if related to Mars. Mars dasha gives ordinary results.

Shloka 16

Saturn dasha gives highly auspicious results if Saturn is related to Jupiter. Jupiter dasha gives ordinary results.

Shloka 17

Mars dasah gives auspicious results if Mars is related with Jupiter. Jupiter dasha will be ordinary.

Shloka 18

Moon dasha gives highly auspicious results when Moon is related with Jupiter. Jupiter dasha gives ordinary results.

Shloka 19

Rahu confers Raj Yoga in its dasha if posited in kendra-trikona.

Shloka 20

If Jupiter, Mercury and Venus are related, it confers special wealth yoga and native gets name, fame and fortune.

Shloka 21 & 22

Venus dasha confers dhanyoga if Venus is related with Mercury or Jupiter. But native becomes poor in Jupiter dasha and Mercury gives mixed results.

Shloka 23

If Sun is in association with other planets, Sun dasha confers yoga but other planets give ordinary results.

Shloka 24

Of the planets related with Rahu, the strongest one gives results as indicated by him.

Shloka 25

If Rahu, Sun and Saturn are posited in 3rd house, Rahu dasha gives courage and fortune.

Shloka 26

Learned state that native looses confidence in Rahu dasha if Mercury is placed in 3rd house.

Death Yogas

Shloka 1

In Mahadasha of 12th lord, 2nd lord becomes marka (killer) & vice versa.

Shloka 2

12th lord acts as strong killer if aspected by or in conjunction with 2nd lord.

Shloka 3

In dasha of 2nd lord, planets posited in 12th and aspected by 12th lord, acts as strong killer.

Shloka 4

In mahadasha of 12th lord, antardasha of malefics posited in 12th house act killer.

Shloka 5

Malefics in 2nd conjunct with 12th lord acts as killer in dasha-bhukti.

Shloka 6

Malefics in 12th house act as killer in their dasha. Malefics related with 2nd lord act as killer in their period.

Shloka 7

8th lord act as killer in its own dasha-bhukti. Death will happen in mahadasha of 6th lord & antar of 8th lord.

Shloka 8

Learned state that death will happen in mahadasha of 8th lord and antardasha of malefics posited in 6th house.

Shloka 9

Learned predict death in mahadasha of 6th lord & antardasha of  planet posited in 8th house.

Shloka 10

In Mahadasha of 8th lord, planet either aspected by 8th lord or in conjunction with 6th lord acts as killer.

Shloka 11

Dasha of malefic in 8th house - antar of 6th lord - acts as killer.

Shloka 12


Dasha of malefic in 6th house - antar of 8th lord - acts as killer.

Shloka 13

Dasha of malefic in 6th house - antar of 8th lord posited in 8th house - acts as killer.

Shloka 14

Dasha of malefic posited in 8th house - antar of malefic posited in 6th house - acts as killer.

Shloka 15

Mercury & Venus placed in 5th house act as killer in each others dasha-bhukti.

Shloka 16

Mars causes death in his dasha if placed in 5th house as malefic by lordship.

Shloka 17

Saturn despite of auspicious by lordship, if conjoins killer, acts as strong killer.

Shloka 18

Learned state that 8th lord in lagna act as killer in its dasha.

Shloka 19

If two or three sons of the native are running Rahu dasha, native dies in that period.

Yoga of Holy Water (Ganga etc.) Dips

Shloka 1

If Karma karka Jupiter relates with 10th lord, native does pious deeds.

Shloka 2 & 3

If 7th, 5th, 9th, 10th lords & Jupiter are combined in watery sign; native will have (in Jupiter dasha) holy dips in Ganga like sacred river but not in Ganga.

Shloka 4

5th and 7th lord dasha does not give pilgrimage but native listens to divine mantra and Lord Vishnu's katha (narration).  

Shloka 5

5th, 7th and 9th lords in own houses give holy dips in Ganga in their dasha-antardasha.

Shloka 6

 
(Dual sign) Gemini native certainly gets Holy dips in Ganga in dasha of Jupiter & Saturn posited in 9th house.

Shloka 7

Native performs pious deeds when 10th lord is in conjunction with Jupiter whereas he does no pious deeds if 10th lord is in 6th/12th.

Raj Yogas

Shloka 1 & 2

If 2nd and 5th lords are posited in 2nd / 5th Or in 9th / 10th, it confers Raj Yoga. 2nd & 11th lords in 10th and free from doshas (afflictions), it confers Raj yoga in their dasha.

Shloka 3

Rahu confers Raj Yoga in its Main or Sub periods if placed in 10th, 11th, 4th or 5th house.

Shloka 4

Ketu in 3rd causes Yoga. Ketu in 9th or 5th is inauspicious as it is malefic.

Shloka 5

Venus confers yoga when Venus and Moon are in 3rd house. Venus dasha confers yoga.

Shloka 6

10th lord in 3rd or 11th is not permanent yoga rather native will have some yoga at some times.

Shloka 7

Jupiter in 3rd as 10th lord causes similar said yoga and enmity with brothers.

Shloka 8

Dasha of 9th lord in 8th confers no yoga. But Jupiter as 9th lord in 8th confers fortune to native.

Shloka 9 & 10

If 9th and 8th lords are related, dasha of 8th lord confers yoga. 9th lord dasha confers no yoga but 8th lord antardasha confers yoga.

Shloka 11 & 12

If 10th & 11th lords are related, 11th lord dasha confers Raj Yoga. 10th lord dasha confers similar results.


Shloka 13

Native is deprived of yoga in antardasha of 11th lord. Venus dasha produces no yoga in 10th house. Saturn dasha confers Raj Yoga if placed in 7th house.

Shloka 14

Rahu confers yoga in 7th house. Saturn in 3rd or 9th confers yoga.

Shloka 15

Jupiter in 3rd, 8th and 9th confers yoga. Jupiter in 12th bestows heaven.

Shloka 16, 17 & 18

9th and 10th lord in 9th / 10th house confers Raj Yoga, great name and fame. Their exchange also confers similar results. Their position in own houses give similar results.  

Shloka 19

5th & 10th lords in 5th or 10th confers similar results.

Shloka 20

Predict similar results if 9th lord & 10th lord are posited in 7th and 1st house respectively.   


Shloka 21

5th, 7th and 10th lords in kendra - trikona confers Raj Yoga, great name & fame.

Shloka 22

Raj Yoga is caused if Sun is in Aries, Moon-Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn in Libra and Mars is in Capricorn.

Fortune Yogas

Shloka 1

If 9th lord is in 11th and 11th lord is in 9th or 9th and 11th are related to each other, it gives fortune to the native.

Shloka 2

If eight planets occupy four signs in pairs; it is fortunate yoga. 

Shloka 3

If six planets occupy three signs in pairs; it is fortunate yoga.

Shloka 4

If four benefics are aspected by malefics, native may not be fortunate but wealthy.

Shloka 5

Native is fortunate if malefics occupy 3/6/11.

Shloka 6

Native will be fortunate with respect to the house whose karka is placed in 12th house.

Shloka 7 & 8

If 4th lord, Venus, 7th lord and 9th lord are in 11th or 9th and related to Saturn, native will gain elephants (vehicles) in Saturn's  main or sub period. This yoga is as per Brihat Jataka.

Shloka 9 & 10




Ascendant lord, 9th lord and 4th lord are in 10th or 1st or 7th house with 10th lord; in main or sub periods of either of planets, native begets high position, becomes very fortunate and gets name and fame.

Shloka 11

An exalted planet in 5th or 9th confers good yoga, fortune, name and fame to the native.

Shloka 12

Sun, Mercury and Venus in 5th house and Jupiter in 11th house; Mercury dasha confers special wealth yoga.

Shloka 13



Native gets his fortune through father if pitra karka Sun and 9th lord are posited in 12th house.

Shloka 14

Exalted Sun gives good fortune to Father. Debilitated Sun indicates unfortunate father.

Shloka 15

Sagittarius natives makes fortune through Father. Even if Sun is debilitated, native gets flow of fortune through Father.

Shloka 16

Native's Father will be fortunate if 12th, 9th lords and Sun are in 12th or if Jupiter is in 12th with 12th lord.

Shloka 17

Native will be fortunate with respect to Mother and Wife if Moon and Venus respectively, are placed in 12th house.

Shloka 18

The one who has Mars in 12th will be fortunate in respect to brother. 9th lord in 12th indicates a fortunate native in respect to Father.

Shloka 19

Native will be fortunate in respect to wife if 7th & 9th lord exchange. Also, he will have self earned wealth.

Shloka 20

Native gets wealth through cousins if Mercury & 2nd lord or just Mercury alone is located in 6th house.



Shloka 21

Jupiter as 5th lord in exaltation indicates fortunate children as stated by learned astrologers.

Shloka 1

Jupiter, the karka of wealth, body and children, if combines ascendant lord, he gives long life.

Shloka 2

Saturn in relation with 8th lord gives long life.

Shloka 3

Saturn in 8th gives long life. 8th lord and Ketu in lagna gives short life.

Shloka 4

Native's father will have long life if pitrakarka Sun relates with 9th lord.

Shloka 5

Sun in 9th gives short life to father. Moon in 4th house gives short life to mother.

Shloka 6

Sun & 9th lord in 9th gives short life to father. 9th lord in 11th gives long life to Father.

Shloka 7

Moon in relation with 4th lord gives long life to mother.

Shloka 8

Mars in 3rd house gives short life to brother. One should predict evil brothers if Jupiter is in 3rd house.

Shloka 9

One should predict only one brother if Jupiter in 3rd as 3rd lord.

Shloka 10

Jupiter in 5th gives short life to male child. Venus in 7th gives short life to wife.

Shloka 11

4th lord & Moon if placed in 9th, 10th or 5th, predict long life to mother.

Shloka 12

Learned state that if 4th lord is in 4th house in mooltrikona sign, mother will live long.

Shloka 13

Even if 4th lord and Moon are placed together in 4th (good) house; but Moon is weak (pakshabala) and Saturn aspects them; mother will have short life.

Wife & Carnality

Shloka 1

If 7th lord & Karka Venus are conjoined and not related to malefic, native will have only one wife.

Shloka 2, 3 & 4

If 7th lord is related to malefic and malefic(s) are posited in 2nd and 7th house; Venus is either in 11th or debilitated; 7th lord is posited in 6th or 12th house - native will have more than one wife. If malefic occupies lagna it indicates similar results.

Shloka 5

If Saturn, Mars and Venus are weak and placed in 2nd, 7th, 8th, 12th or 4th house, native willl have two wives*.  (*Kuja Dosha resulting in loss of first wife)

Shloka 6

If Mars is placed in 2nd, 7th, 8th, 4th or 12th house and Jupiter is placed in 2nd house, native will have 2nd wife late in life.

Shloka 7

If Saturn is in 2nd house or Rahu is in 7th house, learned state that native will have two marriages.

Shloka 8 & 9

If 2nd & 7th houses are occupied by either their lords or Venus and benefic either aspect or joins them, then number of wives will be equal to number of such planets. But only one wife will live if malefic join them. 

Shloka 10

Learned states that native will be passionate for his own wife if Venus and Saturn are placed in 7th house.


Shloka 11

One should state passion for other women when Mercury is placed in 7th house. Jupiter in 7th house gives virtuous and devoted wife.  

Shloka 12

Rahu in 7th makes the native skillful. Ketu in 7th give canny and deceptive wife.

Enemies & Diseases

Shloka 1

8th lord in ascendant gives sickly body. 6th lord in ascendant , native is troubled by diseases and maternal side.

Shloka 2, 3, 4,5,6

Sun & Moon combined with lords of ascendant & 6th, native has danger from fever and water respectively. Mars indicates danger from diseases arising due to wounds, weapons and plague. If Mercury is similarly posited, it indicates pitta problems. Jupiter indicates no diseases. Saturn in similar yoga shows fear from thieves and low class people. Rahu-Ketu indicates fear from snakes, tiger etc.Venus indicates danger to wife. One should state death in war etc. when Mars is in conjunction with 3rd lord.

Shloka 7

6th lord in 12th with afflicted (debilitated etc.) planet and strong ascendant lord; one should predict destruction of diseases.

Shloka 8

Ascendant lord as lord of 6th house (also) if weak but related to benefic; enemies will turn friends.

Conveyances and Fortune

Shloka 1

If 9th lord & 4th lord are place in lagna (ascendant), native will possess fortune & Vehicles as said by learned.

Shloka 2

Native will undoubtedly be extremely happy if Jupiter is posited in, or aspecting 4th house.

Shloka 3

Native will undoubtedly be happy if Jupiter & 4th lord are placed together in kendra (quadrant) or trikona (trine).

Shloka 4

Venus and 4th lord placed in 4th; one should state that native will possess less vehicles.

Shloka 5

4th lord and Venus if placed in 11th or 9th or 10th house, native will possess number of vehicles.

Shloka 6

If 4th lord is related to Moon, Astrologers should predict vehicles drawn by horses.

Shloka 7

Mercury & Venus placed in 4th house in Cancer ascendant, native will acquire vehicles in Mercury-Venus period.

Shloka 8

Jupiter in 4th gives gives vehicles drawn by horses. Venus in 7th makes one highly sensual.

Shloka 9

If Saturn is placed in 4th house, native lives in foreign country. He will live in old & crumbled house and be hard-hearted.


Shloka10

The learned state that native will be have Bhagya-Vahana (Fortune & Veichles) Yoga, if 4th lord is placed in 9th house and 9th lord is placed in 4th house.

Shloka 11

Learned state that it is Bhagya-Vahana Yoga if there is exchange between 4th & 11th lords.

Shloka 12

Learned state that it is Bhagya-Vahana oga if 4th & 5th lords exchange their houses.

Shloka 13

Learned state that it is Bhagya-Vahana oga if 4th & ascendant lords exchange their houses.


Shloka 14

Learned state that it is Bhagya-Vahana yoga if 9th & 5th lords exchange their houses.


Shloka 15

Learned state that it is Bhagya-Vahana yoga if 11th & 5th lords exchange their houses.

 
Shloka 16

Learned state that it is Bhagya-Vahana yoga if 4th & 5th lords are in their own houses.


Shloka 17

Learned state that it is Bhagya-Vahana yoga if ascendant & 5th lords are in their own houses.


Shloka 18

Learned state that it is Bhagya-Vahana yoga if 5th lord is in 9th & 9th lord is in 10th house.


Shloka 19


If 5th lord is related to karka Jupiter, it is a strong yoga of having male child.


Shloka 20


Karka Jupiter, 5th lord and ascendant lord placed in kendra or trikona undoubtedly gives happiness from children (male child).

Bhatri-Bhava (House of Brothers)

Shloka 1

Third lord and the karka of 3rd house i.e. Mars if associated, indicates more brothers.

Shloka 2

3rd lord, Sun and Mars in third house makes the native brave and enduring.

Shloka 3

Rahu-Ketu in 3rd makes one brave. Mercury makes impatient lacking self confidence.

Shloka 4

Weak 3rd house associated with Jupiter or Mars; one should state more brothers.

Shloka 5 & 6

If Jupiter is placed in 11th house, native suffers sorrow from elder brother. If Mars is in 11th house aspected by Saturn; native will lack elder brothers. One should state arishtha (death or casuality) to brothers if 3rd lord is placed in 6/8 houses.

Shloka 7

If 10th lord is placed in third house in horoscopes of Shatriya (political or fighter class), it certainly minimizes the Rajyoga.

Shloka 8

The learned states that 2nd lord with 3rd lord makes one generous (charitable).

Shloka 9

2nd lord and 3rd lord if associated with Saturn makes one greedy and miser; as learned states.

Shloka 10

If 3rd lord is placed in in 6/8/12 houses with benefic, it indicates arishta (death or casuality) late in their life.

Pisces Ascendant or Meena Lagna

Shloka - 1

For Aquarius and Pisces natives, Venus does not cause yoga in 12th house. But it is auspicious for other ascendants.

Shloka - 2

Saturn in 12th house confers yoga. Moon in 12th gives poverty.

Shloka - 3

In Jupiter - Moon period, the above mentioned malefic results of moon will be lessened.

Saturn produces yoga for Libra natives. Though, Jupiter is lord of third and sixth house, Jupiter produces yoga.

Shloka - 2

Mars though malefic as lord of 2nd and 7th house, it certainly does not kill Libra native.

Shloka - 3 & 4

If Jupiter and Venus are conjunct or aspect each other or are aspected by Mars and Saturn or they are in signs owned by Saturn and Mars; than in Jupiter-Venus or Venus-Jupiter period, native suffers from small pox, injuries or other similar problems.


Shloka - 5

If Sun and Mercury placed in 12th house are aspected by Saturn, native's father will be fortunate and will have middle age.

If Sun, Saturn and Mercury are related to Mars, it confers great fortune to the native.
